One key is used for the
ignition and all locks.
When a new vehicle is delivered, the key has a
bar-coded key tag. This tag may be removed by your
dealer before it is delivered.
The vehicle has the PASS-Key
®
III vehicle theft system.
The key has a transponder in the key head that
matches a decoder in the vehicle’s instrument panel.
The key will have PK3 stamped on it. If a replacement
key or an additional key is needed, it must be
purchased from your dealer or certified locksmith.
Any new PASS-Key
®
III key must be programmed
before it will start the vehicle. See PASS-Key
®
III on
page 2-19 for more information on programming a
new key.
In an emergency, contact Buick Roadside Assistance.
See Roadside Assistance Program on page 7-6 for
more information.
Notice: If you ever lock your keys in your vehicle,
you may have to damage the vehicle to get in.
Be sure you have spare keys.
If your vehicle is equipped with the OnStar
®
system with
an active subscription and you lock your keys inside
the vehicle, OnStar
®
may be able to send a command to
unlock your vehicle. See OnStar
®
System on page 2-34
for more information.
